Final Fantasy XIV Badge Redesign

All attendee badges for Otakon 2026 have been redesigned to feature Final Fantasy XIV job-class illustrations. The convention produced ten distinct weekend badge designs, plus two designs each for single-day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday badges—a logistical undertaking that required Otakon to restart a badge-choice system it hadn't offered in recent years.

Embassy of Japan Collaboration

The Embassy of Japan in Washington is co-presenting a photo opportunity and giveaway activation at booth #1139, featuring Final Fantasy XIV staff. On Saturday at 2:45 PM, Fox, the lyricist and vocalist for THE PRIMALS (the official Final Fantasy XIV band), will join Global Community Producer Toshio "Foxclon" Murouchi for "Duty Finder: Otakon 2026," a community-focused panel session.

Kagurabachi World Tour Stops at Otakon

Manga readers who've followed Takeru Hokazono's revenge-driven action series Kagurabachi will get their first chance on the East Coast to see the anime adaptation in motion. Otakon hosts the first 20 minutes of Episode 1 on Sunday, August 2, as part of the Kagurabachi Anime World Tour.

The screening marks the last North American convention showing before Anime NYC later in the year. The Cypic-produced adaptation is scheduled to premiere on Crunchyroll in April 2027, meaning this Otakon preview offers a seven-month advance look at how the studio is handling Chihiro's blade-wielding quest for vengeance.

The manga has sold over 4 million copies, and the anime is building significant anticipation around its metallurgy-grounded combat system.
