Billing & cancellation

When am I charged, and what does the charge cover?

We propose your box and open your review window before your billing date - so you always see the box before you pay for it. On your billing date, our system charges you for the box you reviewed: your full tier price when it's full, or a smaller amount when it came up short. You're only charged for the volumes that ship.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. You can cancel your subscription whenever you like, and no future cycles bill. If this cycle's box has already been charged, it still ships. If it hasn't been charged yet, it's cancelled too and won't ship — and since nothing was charged, there's nothing to refund.

Can I skip a month?

Absolutely. Skip from your box page and nothing bills that cycle; your subscription picks back up the next month.

Refunds

What if my box can't be filled?

You only pay for the volumes that ship. If a locked box uses fewer slots than your tier quota, your charge for that cycle automatically drops to the price of the tier matching the slots you will receive — you're billed the smaller amount, not charged the full tier and refunded later. This applies whether you approved a partial box yourself or the deadline locked a short one. Your next cycle resets to your full quota — unused slots don't roll over.

Can I cancel a single box?

Yes - you can cancel a box while it's still proposed or in review, right from your box page. Because you're not charged until the box locks, cancelling before then simply means nothing is billed for that cycle - there's no charge to refund. Once a box locks, it's committed and ships; you can still cancel your subscription to stop future cycles.

Returns

Do you accept returns?

Returns are only accepted for merchandise that arrives damaged. Used copies are the exception — they're sold as-is and aren't eligible for return.

How do I start a return?

Email support@thegrimoire.shop with your order ID and clear photos of the damaged merchandise, and we'll get your return started.

Shipping

Where do you ship?

We currently ship within the contiguous United States only.

How fast does my box ship?

Your whole box ships together as a single parcel once it's complete. A box we already hold in full ships quickly after it locks. If your box mixes on-hand and distributor volumes, we wait until the distributor volumes arrive, then pack everything and send the complete box at once.

Box mechanics

What if I want a different box size?

You have one standing subscription, so your options are to change your box size (your tier) or cancel — never to buy a second subscription. A size change never rebills you mid-cycle and your renewal day stays the same: the new size takes effect on your next box.

Do subscribers get a discount?

Once your first box has ever locked, a discount on buying individual volumes outright unlocks — it rewards commitment, not signup, so it activates after that first lock rather than the moment you subscribe. If your subscription later goes inactive, the discount turns off.

Used copies

What condition are used copies in?

Used copies are gently-read and one-of-a-kind: each is a single physical copy, so when it's gone, it's gone.

How do I manage my subscription and box?

Everything lives in your account: review and adjust the current box from your box page, and change your box size or cancel from your subscription page. We'll email you when a new box is proposed and when your box ships.
