Affiliate program terms
These are the terms of The Grimoire affiliate program. Everyone is on the same terms. By accepting them you agree to how the program works below — what your readers get, what you earn, and your responsibilities as an affiliate.
What your readers get
Your discount code gives customers 10% off volumes in the series you've chosen — and only those series. Other items in their cart are unaffected.
A new subscriber who arrives from your landing page gets 20% off their first box, whatever that box contains. That first-box rate isn't your code — it's applied automatically when they subscribe within 30 days of visiting your page.
What you earn
You earn $1 for every volume your code actually discounted on a direct purchase.
For a referred subscription, you earn $1 per volume actually shipped in the first box only — credited when that box ships. Nothing recurring: later boxes never pay.
Buying through your own code counts — you earn on your own purchases normally.
What doesn't earn
The affiliate discount is non-combinable. When another discount wins a line — including the automatic subscriber perk — Shopify applies the better deal and that line earns you nothing.
A cart stamped from your landing page but checked out without your code earns nothing on a direct purchase: the code usage is the payout truth. Boxes after the first never earn.
Attribution
The last affiliate landing page a shopper visits wins — visiting another creator's page replaces your code and stamp on their cart.
Subscription referrals use a 30-day window measured from the shopper's last landing-page visit. Direct-purchase commission is decided purely by whether your code discounted the line.
Refunds and balances
Refunds claw back the credit on the refunded volumes. Your balance can go negative and nets against future earnings. An amount already paid out isn't recovered — the clawback simply reduces what you're owed next.
Payouts and taxes
Payouts are manual and off-platform (e.g. PayPal or Venmo), on the shop's schedule. We record every payout and adjustment against your balance.
There is a $10 minimum payout: we pay out once your unpaid balance reaches at least $10. A balance below that simply rolls over and is paid once it crosses the $10 minimum.
You are responsible for your own taxes. Where applicable (U.S. affiliates earning $600 or more in a year), you may be asked for a W-9 and issued a 1099. Consult your own tax advisor.
Disclosure (FTC)
When you promote your code or landing page you must clearly disclose the material connection — e.g. "#ad" or "affiliate" — as required by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission. The disclosure must be clear and hard to miss wherever you share your code.
Program administration
The shop may pause or end an affiliation at any time; your history is preserved. You can edit your chosen series at any time (up to 10, no adult-rated series), and changes take effect immediately. Your handle, display name, and bio are set by the shop.
We may update these terms. A material change bumps the terms version and asks you to accept again before you continue using the dashboard.
